I was wondering if it was possible to have testicular atrophy, or testicular torsion after taking the antibiotic medications. They gave me Doxycycl, and Ciprofloxacn medications. I am concerned because as of right now Im uninsured until I can go for the Obama plan, enroll in the military, medicaid or some other way of getting covered. Ive read this story about this man who went to the Emergency got checked for Epididymitis took antibiotics was finished and 7 months later has left nut shrank to a pea size and he had testicular atrophy and testicular torsion. Maybe one of the causes is varicocele? Id like to get a ultrasound but unable to do so, and can’t even follow up on this physician urologist, I believe I may have a varicocele on my left nut. I don’t have any STD’s because I don’t have sex, nor have I ever had sex, and I am a hetero male, so it must be from some other infection, or inflammation of the epididymis from pulling on the scrotum during ejaculation perhaps.
My concerns are that the one who gave me a physical examination said it was just Epididymitis, my concerns is that I don’t want it to progress to testicular atrophy and than torsion related to shrinkage of a testicle. My concern is that I want to be cured of the infection after the medication because I’m uninsured and in the process of moving.
There is no redness, or swelling, I do feel constipated, I tend to have sharp sudden pains now and then, my left ball (the one with the vein) seems more droopy than the right creating a draglike feeling, so maybe varicocele . I don’t want this to progress to further complications after the antibiotics because I get no refills, I dont want a vasectomy or become infertile, what are the risks of infertility? I don’t pee blood, no vomiting, or anything like that, there is tenderness but no hardness, it doesnt seem acute but I feel sharp sudden pain now and then. The best advice would be great!!! Please help, Thanks. I dont want to experience complications, just want prevention, and to be cured of this becaue Id like to have children one day. I hear this is very common among males, and usually cured with no problems, I hope my fertility is not at risk if I ejaculate twice not much sperm comes out so I hope I dont have low sperm production now, I hear varicocele is a bilateral disease and when fixed with surgery everything goes back to normal, testosterone, and sperm production.
From the physical exam of my scrotum all he diagnosed me with was Epididymitis, not from chlamydia or gonorrhea because I haven’t had sex. Please if possible address all these concerns for me, M.D. or nurse or whomever who has enough experience in the urology department.

Under 35 years old and has been trying to conceive?

The American Society of Reproductive Medicine recommends women consult their health care provider if she is: 1) under 35 years old and has been trying to conceive for more than 12 months, or 2) over 35 years old and has been trying to conceive for over 6 months.

I am under 35 years old and has been trying to conceive with my fiance who is 45 years old with diabetes for almost 6 months. I don’t have any health insurance.

So, how much will it cost for some blood tests to be done? How much is infertility treatments in Pennsylvania?

Thank you.
