Do you think our marriage has a chance?
My husband & I have been together for 14 years, married for 6. We are both 32 years old. We were best friends before we started dating & we are still best friends today.
Okay, 4 years ago we started to try to start a family. After 6 in-vitro’s (1 which resulted in a miscarriage) we moved onto adoption. Earlier this year a newborn was placed with us for a week until the birthmother decided to take him back. Since going through infertility treatments our sex life has really died down. Neither of us really felt like it anymore, but we were still having sex maybe once a week. Since losing the baby our sex life really is just gone. I would still like to have sex, but my husband says he feels like the "spark" is just gone. When we were dating we had sex regularly and it was amazing. It is a huge part of our relationship that I miss. We still show affection towards each other with hugs & kisses, but we haven’t had sex in a month. When he did it just seemed different. We talk a lot about how we are feeling & he says that he loves me and he loves that we are still best friends even through everything we have goen through. We get along great, but I’m afraid that it’s starting to be more like a friendship. I still am very much in love with him, and he says he is still in love with me too, but I really don’t know if he is. Since going through treatments we lost alot of our mutual friends as it was getting too tough for me to be around pregnant women and women with babies.
I am truely in love with my husband and we have been through more in our 6 year marriage then most people, but I am afraid that he can’t get back the feelings he once had for me.
